Solutrans is in the starting blocks. The 14th International Show for Road and Urban Transport Solutions will run from 21-25 November 2017, at the Lyon Eurexpo venue in France. This year, the focus of discussions will be on telematics and, more broadly, the influence of new information and communications technology on the sector. In particular, topics will include the factory of the future, connected vehicles, cybersecurity, new motorisations, training and city centre distribution, all of which are in line with current concerns of road transport companies.
Some 900 exhibitors will be there (around a quarter of them from outside France), while around 36,000 attendees are expected at the show with an exhibition space and outside demonstration area covering a total of 75,000 sq. m. As a sign of its openness to the future, twenty startups will be hosted in a village dedicated to topics such as the environment, energy, smart systems and security.
6 conferences for the sector meetings
The new special road drivers event on 25 November will conclude with a competition following a day of discussions, exhibitions and discovery tours. Two new awards are planned: one for companies boasting the lowest carbon emissions; the other to reward business management for small or medium-sized companies. Finally, a new training area will be strategically placed near the startups.
This year’s show will also play host to the 5th meeting of the commercial and urban vehicle sector, providing the opportunity to discuss major issues in six different conferences. Several major industry players will be in attendance at Solutrans to present their new products.
